For someone just beginning to research or take a look at the Paleo Diet, you could be very easily mistaken into the idea that this type of diet or nutritional lifestyle is severely limited, boring and hard to follow. Without knowing exactly what foods are allowed and also not allowed, a Paleo beginner has potential to walk away from this diet without even trying, therefore missing out on the many health benefits it can provide.

How is Paleo Food Lists

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Diet List .

The basic foundation principle of the Paleo is that if those living in the Stone Age did not have access to a certain type of food as a result of agriculture, animal husbandry or other methods then they obviously did not consume it. Furthermore, if the caveman did not eat it, then neither should you! Although that is a very simplistic way to look at it, not all of today's food and nutrition advances have been bad. There are countless foods and ingredients available these days that are actually beneficial and nutritious. A person successfully living the life of Paleolithic nutrition makes informed choices when it comes to eating and drinking, staying away from processed and refined foods and applying these principles to food available today. It is a cleaner, natural and much more easily digestible menu!

A true Paleo follower will only eat strictly from the approved Paleo food lists...

However at whatever level you choose to follow this eating plan, all changes toward it will do you good. The elimination or reduction of all processed and sugary, salty foods will make a huge difference in itself but here are some of the core foods to stick to when preparing Paleo meals.

Lean meat is a big part of the Paleo food list and thanks to it being protein packed; this food group promotes optimum growth. Stay away from fatty cuts and processed deli meats and instead choose cuts such as lean beef, flank steak, London broil, lean pork, pork chops, and essentially any lean cut meat. Lean poultry is also encouraged, especially the breast portions. Eggs are also an important and flavorsome part of the food list but due to their potential cholesterol impacts it is best to only consume a maximum of around 6 eggs a week.

Those with a keen love for seafood just love the Paleo! An important addition to the Paleo food lists, fish, is surely encouraged along with shellfish and crustaceans. Lobster, prawns, scallops, shrimps! It's all OK on the Paleo! We discussed not eating fatty meats when it comes to beef and chicken but quite the opposite is the case when it comes to fish. Look to eat a lot of the "fatty", oily skinned fish as they contain rich omega oils and plenty of the "good" fats! These are the fish varieties that will give you the best bang for your buck! Bass, cod, eel, haddock, halibut, mackerel, red snapper, salmon, striped bass, and tuna are all excellent choices however pretty much any other type of commercially available fish will do nicely.

If you love your fresh fruit and vegetables then again you're in luck as there is a massive variety of those two food groups! Apart from potatoes and other starchy vegetables, just about all vegetables are a winner. Root vegetables are especially good and the likes of mushrooms, beets, broccoli, onions, pumpkin, squash, and celery as well as all types of capsicums or peppers are all good choices.

You will not find a fruit that is not on the Paleo food lists! Not only is fruit delicious, healthy and refreshing but there is also so much variety of taste and texture. If it's a fruit, you have Paleo permission to eat it and don't forget all the amazing and delicious fruit smoothies you can drink and enjoy especially if you feel you are missing out on those sweet treats!

We will now discuss seeds and nuts and the position they hold on the Paleo food list. Not only are they a great snack but they pack a healthy punch and are a great natural energy kick with a low GI rating. And again, there are so many different varieties to choose from! Always resist the temptation to buy or consume salted or artificially flavored nuts as these extras are not only against the Paleo diet but can be extremely unhealthy. Some of the most popular nuts are almonds and cashews but don't forget chestnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, and pistachios. On the seed side, choose tasty and energy providing sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.

With all the foods that are encouraged, equally important is the elimination of other foods. On the approved Paleo food lists you will find no trace of dairy foods, starchy vegetables cereal grains, legumes, salty foods, soft drinks and confectionery as well as fatty meats.

The more you research the allowed food lists on the Paleo diet the more you will see it is not a limitless, choice less menu. In fact, there is a very large variety of tasty and flavorsome food that will give you everything your body needs without the dramas and health issues associated with today's food and what it does to the majority of us.

Review the approved foods of the Paleo diet and get started today enjoying a cleaner, more natural and healthier nutritional lifestyle. Your body will more than thank you for it!

Always remember that even if you can't go Full-Paleo, every step you take toward the Paleo diet's principles and food choices from the Paleo food lists is a step closer to better health and nutrition!

How is Vitamin K Foods - Great Sources For Vitamin K

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Vitamin K Foods.

Before we get to the specific vitamin K rich foods, let's review why vitamin K is so important and what it is most well known for. Vitamin K, while not one of the better known vitamins in the body, is a vital component of good health and is especially noticeable when the body needs to perform certain health functions, like heal from a cut. Vitamin K helps in blooding clotting, protects the human heart, and also assists and helps to build strong bones.

While it is strongly recommended that you eat foods rich in vitamin K, this one is really unique in that the body produces it naturally, and we can go long periods of time without eating foods with this vitamin and still be fine. The body produces this vitamin from bacteria inside of us that usually resides in the intestines. Even with that being so, it's still a good idea for health purposes to eat a good variety of foods with Vitamin K.

And by far and away, the biggest and most common major source of Vitamin K is green leafy vegetables like collards, spinach, and turnip greens. People whose bodies aren't producing enough Vitamin K, whether it's because of a natural deficiency or a body's increased need for it, can increase their supply drastically by eating these green leafy foods.

If you do have a deficiency of vitamin K in the body, there are several possible causes that may need to be addressed before you see drastic improvement. Some of the most common include:
o Antibiotics from medication interfering with the bacteria
o Health problems, especially those involving the gall bladder, cystic fibrosis, and Crohn's disease
o Taking excessive amounts of mineral oil
o Liver disease or damage
o Chronic diarrhea
o Serious burns

All these factors could explain any deficiency of vitamin K in the body, as well as any extended time period where you are fed via IV instead of through regular food. A normal healthy body can usually produce all the vitamin K that is needed, but sometimes a little boost to help out is just what the doctor ordered.

So make sure to stock up on the green leafy vegetables that bring large amounts of this fantastic, if little recognized, vitamin into your system. You may not notice a lagging amount of vitamin K during your day to day activities the way you might instantly notice a lack of vitamins A, B, or C, but when you're injured and need to heal, you'll know the difference between a body that is full up on K, and one that isn't. So stay healthy and have some greens - next time you need them your body will thank you.

Do you know about - Vitamin E Side Effects

Vitamin K Foods! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

The medical dictionary defines a side effect as a peripheral or secondary effect, especially an undesirable side effect of a drug or therapy. Vitamin E, taken from food sources alone, doesn't have any documented evidence of any side effects. But vitamin E as a supplement has potential side effects when it interacts with other medications or any other conditions.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the true about Vitamin K Foods. You read this article for facts about an individual need to know is Vitamin K Foods.

How is Vitamin E Side Effects

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Vitamin K Foods.

Some of the common side effects that may occur due to vitamin E intake are allergic experiences like breathing difficulty, closing of the throat, and swelling of the lips, tongue or face. Some of the less serious side effects are fatigue, weakness, headache, nausea, blurred vision and diarrhea. Usually these side effects stop after stopping the vitamin E intake.

When a vitamin E supplement is taken with other medications for other diseases, there are interactions that are harmful. Vitamin E is known to cause increased risk of hemorrhage in those individuals who take worfin for anticoagulation or those who are deficient in vitamin K. Contradictory results emerge from studies on potential interactions between a combination of antioxidant supplementation (vitamin C, E, selenium and beta-carotene) and cholesterol-lowering agents. A three-year, randomized, controlled trial shows decreased effects of cholesterol-lowering agents and another five-year study shows no effect by the same antioxidant combination.

Vitamin E inhibits the uptake by cells of the antidepressant drug desimpramine, antipsychotic drug chlorpromazine, beta-blockers for high blood pressure and the anti-malarial drug chloroquine.

Increased gamma-tocopherol levels in the blood are associated with a reduced risk of developing prostrate cancer. Vitamin E, when taken in the form of an alpha-tocopherol supplement may lower gamma-tocopherol levels in the blood.

The condition under which the supplement is taken has a significant side effect. When oxidative stress is mild and when vitamin E containing tocopherols is taken alone without other antioxidants like vitamin C, it acts as a pro-oxidant rather than antioxidant because of less generation of free radicals under mild oxidative stress and the absence of vitamin C to neutralize the tocopherol radical. Hence, vitamin E should be taken along with other antioxidants.

A number of nutritional supplements and herbs, however, help relax the pain of Achilles tendonitis. Since not every supplement (or every medication) relieves pain in every case of that, you may have to experiment to find which supplement is most sufficient for you.

Sports medicine researchers have shown that vitamin E spun into fibers and applied directly to the Achilles tendon greatly accelerates the medical process. Vitamin E absorbs free radicals of oxygen that kick off inflammatory hormones, and accelerates the process of recovery in the injured tendon.

Strictly speaking, scientists have not studied either over-the-counter capsules of vitamin E can accelerate the medical process, but trainers article that the vitamin is helpful and the likelihood of side effects in active individuals is minimal. In the unlikely event that you are prescribed clopidrogel (Plavix) or warfarin (Coumadin) after developing Achilles tendonitis or if you take aspirin on a daily basis, sacrifice your dosage of vitamin E to 200 Iu per day. Mixed tocopherols or natural vitamin E is likely to be more helpful than alpha-tocopherol.

If vitamin E does not work for you, think a heel patch. If you ask your physician for an ointment or patch for Achilles tendonitis and he or she reads the medical journals, you may be offered glyceryl trinitrate. Touted as a potential medicine for tendon injuries, this product acts by releasing nitric oxide (No), which in turn opens tiny blood vessels and increases circulation in the heel. It is the same chemical in "nitro" that is used to treat angina-but it offers exactly the wrong kind of medicine to hold long-term recovery of Achilles tendonitis.

Increased circulation to the heel will sacrifice inflammation, but growth infiltration, slowing the regeneration of cartilage. Even in those cases the medicine is helpful, in a subset of heel injuries known as tendinopathies, not tendonitis, benefits are only noticed after 12 weeks.

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Coumadin Diet.

Here are the 10 foods that plainly lower blood pressure:

Garlic

Garlic has been shown to significantly lower blood pressure in at least one duplicate blind study and any others show that both systolic and diastolic readings show marked correction in those enthralling liberal amounts of garlic. Nobody seems to know the exact reasons why garlic lowers blood pressure, just that it does.

Garlic also thins the blood so if you are on a medication to thin your blood such as aspirin, warafin, coumadin or pradaxa you should check with your condition care supplier (doctor) before you use garlic to lower your blood pressure naturally.

Fresh garlic offers a small amount of minerals and vitamins but that isn't where the power comes from. Garlic is full of sulfur (sulphur) from which it derives a lot of its antimicrobial properties but nobody seems to know where its power to lower blood pressure comes from. It works best fresh or in powdered capsule form. If you cook it, cook it sparingly because the more you cook it the weaker it gets.

The Super Tuber - Baked Potato

Baked potatoes are an excellent source of potassium. The meat of medium potato contains roughly 600 - 700 milligrams but that amount more than doubles if you eat the skin providing a power punch of over 1600 milligrams when eating both meat and skin. Other tubers, like the potato, that are rich in potassium are carrots and beets.

Milk

4 (8 ounce) glasses of low fat 2% milk per day will help you achieve 1700 milligrams of potassium and a whole days contribute of calcium.

Legumes

Beans, peas and lentils are rich sources of potassium. Lentils are especially rich in the mineral. Other advantage of legumes is that they are also chalked full of fiber and protein.

Green Vegetables

A mere 100 grams of spinach ( a tad more than 1/2 cup cooked) offers 302 milligrams of the magic mineral while packing a whopping 676% of the daily vitamin K, 241% of the vitamin A, 18% of the vitamin E, 10% of the riboflavin, 15% of the calcium, 11% of the iron, 21% of the magnesium, 36% of the manganese, 8% of the selenium and 30% of the folate needed for good health. Spinach is a powerhouse, a super food vegetable.

Other super food type vegetables include brussel sprouts, cabbage, collard greens, mustard greens, chard and broccoli. All are great sources of potassium, magnesium and calcium. They also include some vegetable protein, fiber and are a rich source of disease fighting anti-oxidants.

Those who are on blood thinning medication should check with their physician before enthralling large amounts of these vegetable because a diminutive more than half a cup of spinach though very good for most habitancy could have a negative impact on those who need to limit their vitamin K intake to cut clotting.

Bananas

One large banana will contribute roughly 500 milligrams of potassium. They are also a very good source of the vitamins C, B6, folate and include minerals such as magnesium, manganese, copper, calcium, phosphorus and selenium as well. The only drawback to bananas is that they include high amounts of natural fruit sugars, sucrose, fructose and glucose. Diabetics need to be cautious when eating bananas.

Kiwi

Kiwi fruit is jam packed with vitamin's K, C, folate and the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. Kiwi also contains high amounts of natural fruit sugars.

Pomegranate

One pomegranate supplies roughly 700 milligrams of potassium. Pomegranate is also high in vitamin K, offers a good amount of folate and is a good source of magnesium, copper, manganese and selenium. Like other fruits pomegranate contains high amounts of natural fruit sugars.

Oranges

Oranges, though not as power-packed as bananas, kiwi or pomegranate, are still a good source of minerals and vitamins. One orange contains 100% of the daily requirement for vitamin C. Like bananas, oranges include high amounts of natural fruit sugars.

Wild Salmon

Not all salmon are created equal. Stay away from "farm raised" fish. Do the "wild thing." Salmon include large amounts of salutary fish oil (great for artery health), large amounts of potassium, selenium, magnesium, calcium and the B vitamin complex. Other cold water, oily fish such as mackerel and sardines contribute similar beneficial amounts.

Wild salmon, roughly any variety (Coho, Pink, Silver, Chinook, Atlantic), is a super food. Canned salmon, mackerel and sardines include All the benefits of fresh and wild with the added value of increased calcium because you can eat the soft bones.

Don't like fish and have high blood pressure? I advise you learn to like fish real fast because fish oil supplements, though very beneficial, do not contribute the nutrients the whole food, wild fish, contains. The same advice goes for those who do not care for fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. Learn to love the above foods because your condition depends upon them and they are foods that lower blood pressure.

Do you know about - Maximizing The Benefits Of Daily Multivitamins

Coumadin Diet Guide! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

In 2006, Americans spent .1 billion on dietary supplements, with .2 billion of that amount spent on vitamin supplements. In that year as in previous years, multivitamins was the No. 1 supplement in the country and for a good reason. Most of us don't get enough nutrients from food alone, so supplementation with a multi-vitamin, multi-mineral product becomes the next best thing. But, the question is this: Is there a right or wrong way to take a daily multivitamin? Many experts would respond to that question with a resounding "yes".

What I said. It is not outcome that the true about Coumadin Diet Guide. You see this article for information about what you wish to know is Coumadin Diet Guide.

How is Maximizing The Benefits Of Daily Multivitamins

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Coumadin Diet Guide.

When it comes to vitamins, more is not always better. High doses of a multivitamin for the purpose of supplementing one's diet are not helpful. There is no evidence that such megadoses do more for you than the recommended levels. If anything, they may be harmful to your health. To get the most out of your supplement, keep your daily intake level within the recommended dietary allowance (RDA), which is simply the amount of a vitamin or mineral healthy people need to remain healthy. RDAs are established for different age groups, and they should be used as a guide to help you prevent overdose or toxicity.

Taking a daily multivitamin does not diminish the importance of a healthful diet. Food remains the primary source of all vitamins and minerals and cannot be replaced with a supplement. By maintaining a fairly balanced diet, you narrow the nutrient gap between the amount of nutrients you need and what you actually get from foods. The smaller the nutrient gap is the more effective your supplement will be in helping you meet your daily requirement.

If you have a medical condition, tell your doctor that you are taking a multivitamin supplement. Some drugs can increase or decrease the blood level of certain vitamins. Working with your doctor will help you determine the appropriate intake level necessary to protect your health. Also, some supplements may have an adverse interaction with certain drugs. For example, vitamin K reduces the effectiveness of blood-thinning drugs like coumadin, resulting in a medical emergency or death.

It is also important to realize that all multivitamins are not created equal. There are good and not-so-good supplements on the market. Supplements that do not dissolve well in the stomach provide marginal benefits. The price of a multivitamin is not always a good indicator of how good or bad it is; you may have to do a little research in order to find a good one. One good criterion to use is to determine how long the manufacturer of the supplement has been in business. If the company has been in business for a while (say 30, 40, or 50 years), chances are that it is doing something right. You may also visit companies' websites and go to "about us" section. Companies usually provide useful information there.

Another thing you can do to maximize the benefits you get from your multivitamin supplement is to take it everyday. Your biological systems work much better under stable conditions, and providing a consistent level of nutrient is an important way to build and maintain this stability. Your cells are like a strong, dedicated bricklayer working for you day and night. As long as the bricklayer has bricks and other materials he needs, you will get maximum output from him. If, on the other hand, he lacks one or more materials, he would predictably produce less. For cells, this low performance could cause a breakdown of certain protection mechanism for your body, thus increasing your risk of disease.

What's the point? The point is that you can get the most out of your multivitamin if you take it the right way. This means taking it everyday and keeping your intake level within the RDA. If you have a medical condition, tell your doctor what you are taking. Some drugs can increase or decrease the blood level of certain vitamins and minerals. More importantly, do not give up on balanced diet; supplements can never take the place of a healthful diet in proper nutrition.

Coumadin Warfarin! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

The most foremost thing for you, if you have a lasting condition, is to have an understanding of birth control methods and how they can sway your health. Some of these methods can present definite concerns for unavoidable rheumatic conditions. If you have antiphospholipid syndrome or antiphospholipid antibodies in your blood, lupus or Ra, here is what is known about the concerns and the approved birth control methods.

What I said. It is not outcome that the actual about Coumadin Warfarin. You see this article for facts about an individual want to know is Coumadin Warfarin.

How is Birth operate Methods and Their Effects on Women With continuing condition Conditions

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Coumadin Warfarin.

Antiphospholipid antibodies and antiphospholipid syndrome: Apl or antiphospholipid antibodies are proteins that sway the balance in the blood in the middle of clotting and bleeding and are a risk factor for blood clots. Aps or antiphospholipid syndrome, is an autoimmune disorder that is characterized by antiphospholipid antibodies, blood clotting, and miscarriages and the syndrome can happen alone or with lupus, even though you have the antibodies you may not have lupus.

If you have antiphospholipid antibodies you are more likely to found blood clots if you have an additional one risk factor for blood clotting such as a severe illness, surgery, continued bed rest, malignancy, or reproduction or it can be a lifestyle risk factor such as smoking or using mixture contraceptives. That's why this second risk factor can be one of the variants in the blood that makes clotting possible. When you have lupus and antiphospholipid antibodies you are more likely to have other healing risk factors for a stroke or heart attack, like migraines, atherosclerosis or clogged arteries, or elevated cholesterol levels.

Contraceptives with estrogen are know to increase the risk of blood clots and when you have moderate to high antiphospholipid antibodies you should stay away from mixture hormonal contraceptives. If you have low or borderline levels of the antiphospholipid antibodies, it may depend on whether you have had other risk factors for blood clots, to resolve if you should stay clear from the mixture hormonal contraceptives. Progesterone-only contraception is a good alternative for you if you have antiphospholipid antibodies and are unable to safely take estrogen. This method is also an productive way to decrease the heavy menstrual flow if you are on blood-thinning medications like warfarin, also known as Coumadin, which is often used to treat Aps, Antiphospholipid syndrome.

Systemic lupus erythematosus: It was thought for many years that estrogen increased disease action in lupus. This assumption was based on the findings in laboratory animals, and the fact that lupus is found mostly in women, 4 out of 5 citizen with lupus are women, and the reports of birth control pills and reproduction where women said their lupus got worse. There are early reports that suggested there was an increase risk of lupus flares with the use of contraceptives containing estrogen. But, there are more recent studies that were better-designed, using large numbers of participants and standardized methods of measuring flares that found that estrogen-containing contraceptives are safe in some women with lupus.

And there were two randomized clinical trials published at the end of 2005 that found mixture birth control pills don't significantly increase the risk of flares in women with inactive or stable, moderate lupus. The safety of Estrogens in Lupus Erythematosus National Assessment, or Selena, trial included 183 women with inactive or stable, moderate lupus and compared the effects of a approved mixture birth control pill with the effects of an inactive placebo pill. Women who had active lupus, a history of blood clots, or antiphospholipid antibodies couldn't take participant in the study and the whole and severity of the lupus flares showed no inequity in the two groups. There was an additional one study of 162 women with carport mild-to-moderate lupus that also found no adverse effects on flare rates whether the women used a mixture pill, a progesterone-only pill or a copper Iud.

Based on these studies, it would appear that mixture pills are safe for you if you have inactive or stable, moderate lupus and don't have antiphospholipid antibodies. Remember, though, that you may not even be able to tell how active your lupus is and often lupus action can only be detected straight through blood test or other tests. So if you have lupus and you want to use a mixture pill, your rheumatologist must be involved in the decision making. Since about 1/3 of the women with lupus have antiphospholipid antibodies, you have lupus you should be screened for the antibodies before starting a mixture birth control pill.

It seems that it would be smart for you if you have lupus to avoid the contraceptive patch, Ortho Evra, given the recent Fda warning that it increases the risk of blood clots above that of mixture pills. There's also the birth control pills that consist of drospirenone, Yasmin, Yaz, that are more likely to elevate blood levels of potassium, an foremost consideration for you if you have lupus-related kidney problems. The safety of Iuds, if you are taking immunosuppressive drugs to treat your lupus, is not certain, because the drugs and the Iuds can raise the risk of infection. If you have active lupus, barrier methods or progesterone-only contraceptives are your options. Depo-Provera injections may be a question if you are taking corticosteroids, because both the Depo-Provera and the corticosteroids increase the risk of bone loss.

Rheumatoid arthritis: There are some who believe that if you have Ra you might de facto benefit from medicine with estrogen-containing birth control pills because your symptoms improve while pregnancy. But, there's minuscule research into using the pill to treat Ra and research does recommend that women with Ra have general estrogen levels but lower than general androgen levels, so hormonal therapy attempts have focused on supplementing androgens (androgens are primarily male sex hormones, but women have small amounts of them), with mixed results and no clear benefit. Postmenopausal estrogen therapy has also been studied in women with Ra but showed no corollary on the action of the Ra, and although there are no grounds for saying that mixture hormonal contraceptives reduce the action in Ra, there's no evidence that recommend their use would make a flare more likely to happen. mixture pills or the patch, may be productive and suitable for you if you have Ra, but there is a concern that the risk of blood clots from the patch is higher than the risk from the pill. Inserting a vaginal ring or a diaphragm may be difficult if you have severe Ra and like with lupus, it's not sure how safe Iuds are if you are taking immunosuppressive drugs such as ethotrexate, corticosteroids, or cyclosporine to treat their Ra. There are no studies that have addressed this ask specifically with newer Ra medicines such as the biologics, among them Enbrel, Remicade and Humira.

There are other concerns as well and they are the hormone containing contraceptives can interact with other medicines, and this can reduce your medicine's effectiveness or increase its side effects. Some of these medicines are used to treat arthritis and related conditions. Some anticonvulsants like anti-seizure medications that are used to treat seizures, headaches, or lasting pain disorders may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. There are also, corticosteroids, warfin, and cyclosporine that can interact with the contraceptives even though the interactions are weak. Other medications that are used to treat other health conditions, some antibiotics, may also interact with hormone containing contraceptives and if you are using one of these contraceptives you should all the time remind your doctor of that fact when your doctor prescribes you new medications.

When you have rheumatic conditions and you have to stay in bed for a while, maybe because of a flare-up of the condition, or after surgical operation you should stop using mixture birth control pills, the patch and the vaginal ring. Also, and especially if you have antiphospholipid antibodies, your doctor should give you low doses of a blood-thinning medicine. If you are planning optional surgery, you should talk to your doctor about stopping you mixture hormonal contraceptive two months in advance, because estrogen's effects on blood clotting takes up to six weeks to reverse.

There are so many different types of birth control available to you today that if you have a rheumatic health you can pick a safe and productive method. There are also many factors that have to be taken into consideration and it's requisite that you, your gynecologist, and your rheumatologist work together to resolve which of these methods is best for you.

If you have high blood pressure, blood clots, or atherosclerosis, it's imperative that you fully understand how that happened, the physiological consequences of any healing treatments, and any viable alternatives that might be ready to you.

What I said. It is not outcome that the true about Coumadin Warfarin. You check out this article for info on anyone wish to know is Coumadin Warfarin.

How is Arteries and Veins

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Coumadin Warfarin.

That's what we will cover today.

Circulatory Systems

As we discussed previously, you have several certain circulatory systems.

The pulmonary ideas that carries deoxygenated blood away from the heart to the lungs, and then returns the refreshed oxygenated blood back to the heart.

The systemic ideas that carries the oxygenated blood away from the heart out to every singular cell in your body, and then returns the spent deoxygenated blood back to the heart so that it can be sent out through the pulmonary system.

There is truly a third system, the portal system, which loops within certain organs or areas of the body that we will discuss in future newsletters.

The prominent thing to understand about these circulatory systems is that they are "closed looped." Unless there is injury, no blood leaves them. As you will see, even the nutrition that every singular cell in your body receives from your blood happens without that blood ever leaving the concluded system. This becomes key when we talk about blood pressure.

The circulatory systems are comprised of:

- Arteries.

- Arterioles.

- Capillaries.

- Veins.

All told, these four components make up some 50,000 miles of passageways in the body. Let's take a look at them in more detail.

Arterial system

Arteries, arterioles, and capillaries make up the arterial system. Arteries and arterioles have only one function--to move blood throughout the body. That's all they do. They are channels, tubes, pipes if you will. As long as they are unclogged, flexible, and undamaged, they do their job. The traditional contrast in the middle of arteries and arterioles is one of size. Arterioles are just the smallest arteries you can see with the naked eye. Again, arteries and arterioles have only one function, to move blood. They do not feed any cells of the body--not even their own. That's truly a fun wee bit of trivia. The arteries of your body are not fed by the blood that flows through them. They want their own network of blood vessels called the vasa vasorum (literally, vessels of a vessel) that feed them -- from the outside!

As I mentioned, I'm not going to get into naming all of the arteries in the body; but for the most part, arteries take their names from whether the organs they contribute (e.g.., the hepatic artery, which feeds the liver) or the areas through which they tour (e.g., the subclavian artery, which travels under the clavicle--Aka, the collar bone).

Capillaries

Capillaries are quite dissimilar in function. They are not designed to shuttle blood. In fact, blood hardly flows through them at all as they are so small they allow only one blood cell at a time to pass through. Instead, the capillaries are the end point of the arterial system. It is in the capillaries that food and oxygen are exchanged with every cell in your body (except your cornea and the lens of your eye). Amazingly, of the 50,000 miles of circulation in the body, capillaries include over 49,000 miles.

Unlike the arteries, capillaries are imperceptible to the naked eye. They are smaller than a human hair--microscopic. And it is because they are so small and their walls are so thin, that capillaries serve as the transfer ideas for food and oxygen in the body. Keep in mind that every singular cell in the body (except the cornea and lens) is near a capillary. That means that as blood passes through the ultra thin capillaries, it is easy for oxygen and tiny sugar and protein molecules (the end products of digestion) to "exchange" through the walls of the vessel and feed every singular cell in the body.

Capillaries also serve as the connecting point in the middle of the arterial ideas and venous ideas that returns deoxygenated blood to the heart. The same transfer ideas that works to feed the cells of the body works in reverse. Cells pass their waste such as carbon dioxide back through the walls of the capillaries, where the blood cells recently relieved of their oxygen payload, can now pick up the Co2 waste from the cell and carry it back to the lungs for transfer with fresh oxygen.

Surprisingly, there's more "space" inside the tiny capillaries than can be filled by your whole blood supply. If all your capillaries were "open" simultaneously, your blood pressure would drop precipitously, and you would die. What happens, though, is that your body intelligently shunts blood into dissimilar capillaries as needed. When functioning properly, this is a pressure regulating mechanism. The body can open more capillaries to lower pressure, and close off sections if needed to raise pressure.

Note: our bodies withhold the ability to sprout new capillaries throughout our whole lives.

Venous System

The venous ideas returns deoxygenated blood to the heart, and for the most part, it pretty much parallels the arterial ideas in all aspects--just in reverse. Whereas the arteries start out large (the aorta) and end small (the capillaries), the venous ideas starts small (the capillaries) and ends large (the vena cava). Veins tend to run right next to their corresponding arteries, and in fact have similar names. The subclavian vein, for example, runs in tandem with the subclavian artery under your collar bone. The traditional exception is the vena cava, which is the aorta's counterpart.

How arteries and veins are constructed

In this section, we start learning how problems occur. For it is their dissimilar construction (dictated by their dissimilar functions) that defines the nature of the things that can go wrong such as hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, and blood clots.

Arteries

Arterial walls are composed of elastic tissue and smooth muscle. It is their elastic nature and the presence of titanic muscle tissue that allows them to expand and covenant as the heart beats. This allows them to even out the growth in pressure caused by each beat. This is one of the traditional reasons why hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis) increases blood pressure. If you pump more fluid through the same sized tube, pressure must increase. On the other hand, if the tube is flexible and can widen, the growth is less. (We will talk more about this later.)

Veins

Veins are thinner walled than arteries and have less elastic tissue, and much, much less smooth muscle tissue. Instead, veins make use of valves and the muscle contraction of your body's major skeletal muscles to squeeze blood along. This is the theorize you're asked to get up and walk colse to on a long plane flight--to prevent blood from pooling in your legs. As a side note, the lack of muscle in the walls of veins makes them more susceptible to bleeding when injured since there's no muscle to clamp down.

Problems that can occur in arteries

There isn't much mystery as to what the qoute is--the build up of arterial plaque on the walls of the arteries and arterioles. There is, however, a great deal of mystery as to what causes it.

The basic qoute is that arterial plaque (a blend of protein, calcium and cholesterol) starts construction up on the walls of the arteries. This causes the arteries to both dry and narrow. So far so good! But what causes that buildup?

The cholesterol theory

The traditional ideas lays the blame on cholesterol--that as cholesterol levels climb in the blood, this causes plaque to form on the walls of the arteries. But this ideas begins to collapse under even the most elementary scrutiny. As I mentioned in my newsletter, the Cholesterol Myth, one of my beloved questions to ask doctors is, "If cholesterol is the main culprit in heart disease, why don't veins ever get narrowed and blocked?" And if you wanted to, you could throw capillaries into the equation too. Capillaries do not evidence the build up of arterial plaque. (They do, however, clog with amyloid plaque in the brain. But that's a dissimilar qoute that we'll cover in a later newsletter.)

Think about this for a moment. If you have cholesterol circulating equally through the whole circulatory system, but it only causes plaque to build up in the arteries and arterioles, not the capillaries or veins, then how can cholesterol be the traditional cause of the problem? If cholesterol caused plaque to form, wouldn't it form everywhere? Since it only forms in the arteries, doesn't the qoute have to be something unique to those arteries?

The arterial wall theory

A more sophisticated version of the ideas says that the build up of plaque is triggered by damage to the arterial wall--the endothelial lining. The lining consists of a thin layer of endothelial cells that performs two vital functions:

- It protects the "innards" of the artery from toxic substances in the blood.

- It helps regulate the expansion and contraction of the arteries by releasing a bio-chemical (cyclic Gmp) into the cells of the smooth muscle in the arterial wall that turn the tone or firmness of the artery.

- In an exertion to heal damage to the endothelium, your body will "patch" the damage with plaque.

- This produces one of two conditions--two sides of the same coin really.

Artherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries)

Damage to the endothelial lining is "managed" by the smooth muscle cells surrounding the lining. smooth muscle cells respond to endothelial injury by rapidly multiplying and producing a fibrin/calcium/cholesterol patch. These patches, called plaques occur just inside the lining and thicken the artery's inner wall. Over time, given multiple injuries, the wall of the artery begins to dry and come to be dysfunctional, no longer increasing and contracting to regulate blood pressure --and steadily narrowing the passageway through which blood flows.

Arteriosclerosis (plaque build up)

Another way of describing this process is that your body creates plaque to "paste over" any damaged areas--like a scab over a cut. Over time, given repeated injury, these plaques intrude more and more on the inner passage of the artery steadily compromising the ability of the artery to expand and covenant and for blood to flow freely.

But it gets worse

The damage to the arterial wall also triggers an immune response with white blood cells flooding the area. This leads to a continuing inflammatory response in the blood vessel. Prolonged inflammation causes even more damage, which accelerates the process.

All of this, of course, brings up the ,000 question: "Since the whole ideas hinges on damage to the endothelial lining, what truly causes the damage to the lining, and why doesn't it happen to the lining of the veins?"

Once again, oxidized fats and Ldl cholesterol are named as the key culprits. Other suspected culprits include:

- Free radicals.

- High blood pressure (yes, high blood pressure begets more high blood pressure).

- Diabetes.

- High homocysteine levels.

- High C-Reactive Protein levels.

- Low levels of vitamin C (similar to scurvy).

- Low levels of nitric oxide.

- Heavy metals.

- Aging.

- Muscle matters

But once again, the interrogate arises: "Are not all of these things present in the capillaries and veins too?" The answer, of course, is yes they are--which means there's still a missing piece in the equation. The answer, according to the pH theory, lies not in what flows through the arteries and veins (which is identical), but in their construction (which is different). The key contrast in the middle of arteries and veins is in the estimate of muscle tissue surrounding the endothelial lining. In arteries and arterioles, the smooth muscle is extensive. In veins, it is minimal. And in capillaries, it is totally absent. Why does this matter?

It matters because when muscle tissue is used it produces lactic acid. If your body is healthy (in an alkaline state) and has ready entrance to an abundant source of oxygen rich blood, that lactic acid can clear quickly. But for those population who eat a high acid forming diet and are in an acidic state, the lactic acid cannot clear quickly. (Remember, blood vessels do not have direct entrance to the oxygen in the blood that flows through them. They are dependent on the vasa vasorum.) It is the lactic acid that provides the final trigger that causes damage to occur in arterial linings, but not so in veins. It is the presence of accumulated lactic acid in the smooth muscles surrounding arteries that finally causes plaques to form.

But even beyond lactic acid, there's another area where muscle tissue matters: nitric oxide. The contraction of the muscles in the arterial walls is regulated by a signaling molecule that we referred to earlier called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cyclic Gmp) in the muscle cells. Cyclic Gmp causes the arterial muscle to relax, in preparing for its next contraction. Cyclic Gmp is triggered by nitric oxide, which is produced in the endothelial lining. The ability of the lining to establish adequate nitric oxide to declare artery dilation is one of its most crucial functions. As damage continues to build in the lining, it blocks nitric oxide-induced dilation, thus stiffening the arteries.

High Blood Pressure

If the arterial blockages happen in your coronary arteries, the result, as we've discussed previously, is coronary heart disease and a heart attack. If it happens in the carotid arteries prominent to the brain, it can cause a stroke.

In most cases, however, the damage happens systemically, throughout your arterial system, and the follow is high blood pressure. As a quick review, blood pressure is a determination of the two pressures in your circulatory ideas as your heart beats. The increased pressure produced in your circulatory ideas by the contraction of the left ventricle is referred to as systolic pressure. The reduced pressure while leisure is called diastolic pressure. These are the two numbers your physician gives you when reading your blood pressure (e.g., 120 over 70). Both low and high blood pressure are dangerous, but low blood pressure is usually easier to manage. High blood pressure, on the other hand, tends to be more intractable and harder to manage--and therefore more dangerous.

Your body has many mechanisms for controlling blood pressure.

- It can turn the estimate of blood the heart pumps.

- It can turn the diameter of arteries, and the volume of blood in the bloodstream.

- To growth blood pressure, it can pump more blood by pumping more forcefully or more rapidly.

- It can also growth pressure by narrowing arteries (particularly the arterioles), forcing the blood from each heartbeat through a narrower space than normal.

- It can seal off capillaries forcing the blood into a smaller space, thereby increasing pressure.

- The body can add fluid to the bloodstream (regulated by the kidneys) to growth blood volume and thus growth blood pressure.

- And it can remove fluid from the blood (also regulated by the kidneys), thereby decreasing pressure.

All of these things happen automatically, regulated by a healthy body, without your even reasoning about it. In addition, blood-pressure measurements can vary throughout the day, affected by everything from:

- Food.

- Alcohol.

- Caffeine.

- Smoking.

- Stress.

- Climate.

- And the time of day.

Blood pressure changes that occur plainly while the day are the follow of the body's internal (circadian) rhythms. In most people, blood pressure rises rapidly in the early morning hours, in hope of rising and starting the day. This is not the follow of the bodily act of rising but is a preset ideas that automatically increases a person's blood pressure at that time. Likewise, pressure usually starts dropping early in the evening in hope of going to sleep.

All of these things mentioned so far, have nothing to do with clinical hypertension unless they follow in secondary damage such as can be caused by smoking and alcohol or sustained stress. Clinical hypertension is a continuing and perilous health caused by:

- Constricted arteries.

- Hardened arteries.

- Malfunctioning kidneys (which we'll talk about in a subsequent newsletter).

If left untreated, continuing hypertension can cause:

- Damage to the heart muscle because of the extra load it puts on the heart.

- Strokes.

- Kidney damage--which leads to more hypertension, which leads to more kidney damage, etc.

And ultimately, it kills you.

Problems that can occur in veins

As we've already discussed, veins do not have a titanic estimate of muscle tissue to covenant and squeeze blood along. That means that without bodily action to cause the skeletal muscles to squeeze the veins:

- Blood has a tendency to pool and stop flowing in veins--particularly in the legs where gravity works against you.

- Blood that isn't flowing tends to clot.

- Clots tend to propagate more clotting colse to the traditional clot.

- Cumulatively, this can form very large clots.

- Large clots that stay in place and block the flow of blood cause phlebitis.

If the clot breaks free and starts traveling through the circulatory system, it's called a thrombus. At anyone point it lodges in a blood vessel and blocks it, it's called an embolism. If you think back to our discussion of the venous system, you'll remember that veins get steadily bigger as blood moves back to the heart. That means that clots that break free in the legs are unlikely to be stopped everywhere on their way back to the heart. The first place they are likely to lodge is when the right ventricle of the heart pumps them out into the pulmonary circulatory ideas on the way to the lungs. If the clot is fairly small, it will lodge in the lung itself and block the flow of blood to a section of the lung, killing it. This is called a pulmonary embolism. Larger clots can truly lodge in the pulmonary artery feeding an whole lung...killing the lung just like that. Or the clot can lodge at the juncture where the pulmonary artery divides in the middle of the two lungs, which will kill both lungs simultaneously...in an instant.

Dvt, or deep vein thrombosis, is the term now generally linked with clots that form as the follow of Prolonged sitting on an airplane. They tend to break free the next time you start intriguing again with any vigor. This can be several days or weeks after the plane flight itself, which means many population never associate the two events.

There is one other preeminent place that clots tend to form. As a follow of low blood flow or damaged valves, clots can form in the left atrium of the heart. If the clot forms there, it's already past the pulmonary circulatory ideas so it can't influence the lungs. Unfortunately, the next stop for the clot is out into the systemic circulatory system, where it has a good chance of being pushed up into the brain causing a stroke.

What doctors do about these problems

Medical treatments for vascular problems never address the actual causes, but seek instead to force test results back into line. What is your physician likely to offer?

Clogged arteries

Modern treatment truly only has two approaches.

1. Surgically heal the damaged area (bypasses and angioplasties).

2. Use drugs to enhance the flow of blood through the damaged area and minimize the production of cholesterol, which serves as one of the triggers.

Neither of these approaches, of course, truly deals with the real problem.

High blood pressure

When it comes to high blood pressure, doctors rely almost exclusively on pharmaceutical drugs. The four major classes of drugs are:

1. Diuretics, which sell out pressure by making you pee out water from your body. sell out the volume of fluid in your blood, and you sell out the pressure. Unfortunately, side effects can include dizziness, weakness, an increased risk of strokes, and impotence. (Not to worry, there are medications to alleviate the side effects.)

2. Calcium channel blockers, which work to relax and widen the arteries--thus reducing blood pressure. Then again, a major side follow of channel blockers is a 60% increased risk of heart attack.

3. Beta blockers, which work by weakening the heart so it won't pump as strongly, thereby reducing blood pressure. One of the major problems with beta blockers, though, is the increased risk of congestive heart failure.

4. Ace inhibitors (the new drugs of choice), which like the calcium channel blockers, also work to relax and widen the arteries. Unfortunately, Ace inhibitors can produce severe allergic reactions, can be deadly to fetuses and children who are breastfeeding, and can cause severe kidney damage.
Again, none of these drugs deals with the actual cause of the high blood pressure. They are merely an exertion to force test numbers into line and prevent population from immediately dying.

Blood clots and Dvt

If doctors are worried about clots (such as after bypass surgery), they put patients on blood thinners. The standard is Coumadin (warfarin). Aside from the usual jokes that Coumadin is essentially rat poison (which it is), it has serious side effects. It can cause severe internal bleeding that can be life-threatening and even cause death. You can always tell a man on warfarin by the whole bruising all over their body since even the slightest bump or touch is adequate to cause internal bleeding. It's a bit like using dynamite to open a locked door. It can do the job, but you need to be oh so faithful or you'll blow up the construction at the same time. There are great choices.

Note: some population might think aspirin is a good alternative. It's not. While aspirin may be beneficial at keeping blood flowing through arteries, studies indicate it has no follow on preventing clots from forming in veins.

What are the options?

As it turns out, for most major heart problems, you have a world of alternatives--certainly safer and often far more efficient than their healing counterparts.

Clogged arteries

- Studies have shown that dietary changes alone can unplug arteries.

- Proteolytic enzymes, particularly formulas that include whether nattokinase or lumbrokinase, can break down the proteins that hold plaque together stuck to arterial walls--effectively dissolving it.
Proteolytic enzymes can also help dissolve scarring of the endothelial lining.
And proteolytic formulas that include seaprose-s, serrapeptase, and/or endonase can help sell out arterial inflammation that both constricts arteries in real time and contributes to future long term damage.

- adequate Omega-3 fatty acids in the diet also help sell out arterial inflammation and dramatically sell out the circulating levels of damaging Nefas.

- Antioxidants such as Sod, pomegranate, grape seed citation (Aka Opcs), and pycnogenol help heal the endothelial lining, thereby preventing future plaque and helping to heal current plaque.

- Methylating supplements such as B6, folic acid, B12, Tmg, and Same help sell out homocysteine levels, thereby reducing damage to the endothelial lining.

- L-arginine and noni citation sustain the smooth muscle in arterial walls in obtaining adequate nitric oxide to function properly.

- quarterly heavy metal detoxing can sell out a major cause of irritation to the endothelial lining and a traditional instigator of plaque formation.

- And raising body pH through permissible diet and the use of supplements such as coral calcium reduces lactic acid levels in the arterial smooth muscle, thereby minimizing damage to arterial linings.

As you can see, there is a world of choices you can make that can dramatically turn your vascular outcomes. Virtually all of them are covered if you're following the Baseline of health Program.

High blood pressure

Pretty much everything you do to sell out clogging of the arteries will, by definition, help to sell out blood pressure. In addition, though, you can also consider:

Lose weight. Simple laws of physics apply here. As we've already discussed, your blood vessels have to aid every singular cell in your body. The more body mass you have, the more pressure you need to force blood through the system. Lose weight; less pressure required.

If you smoke, stop. Smoking constricts blood vessels and raises pressure.

If you're stressed, try meditation or biofeedback. As part of your body's "flight and fight" mechanisms, stress increases heart rate and blood pressure to help respond to the short term stress of an assault from a saber toothed tiger. Twenty-four/seven stress was not designed into the system. Prolonged stress assuredly impacts blood pressure levels. Even if you have clogged arteries, reducing stress levels can still help drop your blood pressure levels significantly.

Herbs such as passionflower, apocynum venetum, hawthorne, and stevia (yes stevia) have all been shown in clinical studies to help lower blood pressure.

Blood clots and Dvt

Proteolytic enzymes, particularly formulas that include whether nattokinase or lumbrokinase are just as efficient at preventing clots, with wide ranging dosage tolerances. In other words, good proteolytic formulas work with minimal chance of side effects. In fact, a good systemic proteolytic enzyme formula that also contains enzymes such as endonase, seaprose-s, or serrapeptase can have multiple beneficial effects for the circulatory ideas in increasing to reducing clotting. Such formulas can play a major role in reducing inflammation and scarring in the cardiovascular ideas and enhance cardio perfomance in athletes.

Conclusion

When it comes to most forms of heart disease linked with the arteries and veins, you have a world of alternatives--certainly safer and often far more efficient than their healing counterparts. It's also worth noting again that if you are following the Baseline of health Program, then you're already doing most of them.

Which brings us to the final part of our series on the anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the cardiovascular system--your blood. In the next issue will take on this most complex of subjects.
